Lewis Johs’ June 2014 Denim Day Donation—Sporting Blue and Raising Awareness for Autism Speaks

Each month, Lewis Johs offices from NYC and Long Island raise awareness for great causes by participating in our traditional “Denim Day” when attorneys and staff wear denim and donate to named charity organization. This month, we chose Autism Awareness, a cause that is near and dear to our hearts and one that we are committed to fighting for.

Here, attorneys and staff from the NYC office took this Denim Day opportunity to wear blue and talk about Autism Awareness. Members of the special education practice group, assist families impacted by Autism each day as they counsel them through the process to obtain services through city, county and state agencies and school districts, represent them at impartial hearings and state and federal appeals. Today, the Lewis Johs special education group matched the donations contributed by the NYC office.

Specifically, our donations will be made in the honor of Timmy Long, an adorable 12 year old with a bright smile and infectious laugh. He is an inspiration to all those who meet him.  His father Kevin, inspired by Tim’s courage and strength, is preparing for the 2014 NYC marathon and will run the miles in honor of Tim and to help him realize that goals can come to fruition if you stay the course and have confidence in yourself.
