LJAA Denim Day Honors the Late Ronald Aviles

The LJAA team formed in a shape of an “X” holding lacrosse sticks in honor of this month’s Denim Day,  as they sported denim and donated money towards a great lacrosse league close to our hearts.

This month’s proceeds will go towards the Levittown PAL Tomahawks Lacrosse team, in honor of Ronald Aviles. Ronald was a pioneer in bringing lacrosse to the Police Athletic League, as lacrosse was the love of  his life. He was the only goalie at North Carolina State University to make All American, and in 1981 was the team’s MVP.  Through his love and dedication to lacrosse and the kids who play, he was an integral part of the team’s early development.

In honor of Ronald the league started an athletic sports scholarship in his memory. Every year contributions go toward scholarships as well as for uniforms and equipment for those who need but can’t afford them. With every child the league helps Ronald’s spirit of caring and love of the game continues.
