Dismissal Granted for Amanda Dickens in Storm Damage Case

Amanda Dickens secured dismissal of a claim by a pro se plaintiff who repeatedly filed duplicative suits against her insurer for damages to her home allegedly caused by Superstorm Sandy.  Three prior suits had already been settled with the Plaintiff for damages to her home.  However, more than a year after the settlement and more than three years after Superstorm Sandy, Plaintiff filed the instant suit in spite of the  two year statute of limitations provided in the Plaintiff’s insurance policy.  In her motion to dismiss, Amanda argued that the latest suit had been filed after the two year statute of limitations had expired and the Court agreed and dismissed the complaint against the insurer.
