Senior Counsel Stacey Gorny was recently awarded the Purple Pump Mentoring Award by the Moxxie Mentoring Foundation. Gorny was selected by the organization’s Board of Directors for her commitment and exemplary mentoring of a Junior from SUNY Old Westbury.
“I am honored to have received Moxxie’s Purple Pump Mentoring Award. Being a mentor has been a truly rewarding and fulfilling experience. I am passionate about helping young women achieve their professional and personal life goals,” said Gorny. “Through the Moxxie Network and Foundation, I have met many professional women that are committed to influencing the careers of up-and-coming young professionals. I am proud to be part of such a respected and experienced group of women.”
Gorny has been very involved with the Moxxie Network for the past year and was chosen to be the Co-Chair of Jr. Moxxie Mentoring Program to oversee and coordinate the college mentoring program. The nine-month program provides professional development workshops and opportunities for female students interested in careers in law, finance, media, entertainment and health.
“Our law firm is very impressed with Stacey’s desire to share her experiences and mentor young women,” said Fred Johs, Partner at Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles, LLP. “Her work ethic, career accomplishments and her commitment to her family, work and others makes Stacey a perfect role model. We are very proud of her and this achievement.”
