Ellen N. Savino

Ellen Savino is a Partner to Lewis Johs, practicing real estate and banking law. She supervises the firm’s real estate group. Ellen represents major institutional lenders and credit unions as well as real estate investors and business owners.  Ellen has extensive experience handling all aspects of real property law, including institutional financing, real estate sale, acquisition and leasing transactions; as well as foreclosure and real estate related litigation. 

Ellen also serves as counsel to NYS Senator Carl Marcellino of the Fifth Senate District. 

Ellen was named in 2017 Long Island Business News as “Who’s Who in Women in Professional Services” celebrating influential business women who take a lead role in their companies. She was recognized by Hofstra Law as an Outstanding Woman in Law in 2017.  Schneps Communications and Star Network honored Ellen as a Power Woman in Business in 2016.  She was recognized in Long Island Business News  in 2014 as “Who’s Who in Commercial Real Estate Law”.  In 2003 and 2008, Ellen was named one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women on Long Island by Long Island Business News. She also had the distinction of receiving the Class of 2002 Business Recognition and Leadership Award from the Multiple Sclerosis Society. 

 She is active in a wide range of professional and community activities. She is a former trustee and past President of the Glen Cove Library Board. Ellen is a former member of Women Economic Developers of Long Island (WEDLI), where she served as a board member for four years.  

Ellen is involved with her alma mater, Hofstra University, where she served as an affiliate instructor, teaching real property law for the Paralegal Studies Certificate Program. She serves as a mentor for the Hofstra Law Mentorship Program.   

Ellen received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Hofstra University in 1985. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Psi Chi. She graduated from Hofstra Law School in 1988 and was admitted to the New York State Bar, Second Judicial Department, in 1989. In 1994, she was admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
