Partner Brian Greenwood Obtains Defense Verdict in Nassau County Jury Trial
Brian Greenwood obtained a defense verdict following a jury trial on an automobile liability case in Supreme Court, Nassau County in the firm’s first jury trial since March 2020. Plaintiff alleged that while she was lawfully making a left turn, the defendant failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into her car. The defense contended that the defendant came to a complete stop at the stop sign but had to edge up slightly into the intersection due to an obstruction to his view of oncoming traffic. The defense further argued that after he edged up into the intersection and was looking for traffic in the opposite direction, the plaintiff cut her left turn too sharp and crashed into the front corner of his vehicle. The jury returned a unanimous verdict finding the defendant was not negligent.
