Gavin O’Brien is an associate with the firm, concentrating his practice primarily in the areas of nursing home defense and medical malpractice.

Prior to joining Lewis Johs, Gavin worked as an associate attorney at a general use law firm focusing his practice on real estate and land use, while also successfully defending clients in town and village court proceedings across the east end of Long Island. Directly out of law school, he was hired as an Assistant District Attorney in Suffolk County where he prosecuted thousands of criminal cases from the arraignment through plea bargaining or a trial.

Gavin earned his Juris Doctor Degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 2021. While there, he interned at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and for the General Counsel of a public benefit corporation in Nassau County. He earned his B.A. in Legal Studies from the University of Miami.

Gavin was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 2022 before the Appellate Division of the Second Judicial Department.
