Community involvement is an important part of our culture.

We believe in giving back to the communities we serve. Many members of our firm are involved in numerous charities and community-based organizations. From board and committee members to volunteering, holding drives and fundraising, we are dedicated to raising awareness and are proud to support these special non-profit organizations. Our community initiatives have been recognized by the Long Island Herald, Richner Communications in 2019 for Philanthropic Law Firm of the Year and featured in Primerus’ International law publication for the philanthropic work that we do within the firm.

Half Hollow Hills- Blessings in a Backpack

LJAA supported Blessing in a Backpack, who provide food on the weekends for elementary school children.

John Theissen Children’s Foundation

The team collected toys as well as raised funds and awareness for the John Theissen Children’s Foundation. The foundation not only provides toys to sick and needy children, they also help families with medical expenses and take part in fulfilling sick children’s wishes.

Long Island Cares

The staff went above and beyond by collecting hundreds of pounds of food and donating funds to help needy families for the holidays on Long Island.

Spirit of Children Foundation

We are proud to support a foundation that brings the spirit of Halloween to over 140 Children’s Hospitals across the US and helps create the Child Life Departments, which provide playrooms and family space as well as fund art, music, pet and aquatic therapies.

The Maurer Foundation

The team supported Breast Cancer Awareness month and The Maurer Foundation. This non-profit foundation provide life-saving presentations to educate students, women and men about breast cancer prevention, early detection, risk factors, myths, and proper breast self-exam procedures.

Volunteers of America – Greater NY

We are pleased to support Operation Backpack to help thousands of homeless children and foster youth in NY go back to school with the supplies they need to succeed.

Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI)

LJAA contributed to client & friend Kevin Long’s charity run to raise funds for “Team Timmy” to help with repairs to DDI’s school & programs for children and adults with autism on LI.

American Red Cross

Lewis Johs held a special denim day dedicated to the American Red Cross and their efforts in the recent areas affected by Hurricane Harvey and Irma.

NYS DES Summer

LJAA helped send four underprivileged kids go to summer camp by raising funds for NYS DES Summer.

Boys Hope Girls Hope

We enjoyed hosting Sister Mary Lanning and the BHGH interns for a day of inspirational life and career stories.
