Lewis Johs Internship Program for the Disabled
Lewis Johs is dedicated to supporting and integrating people with disabilities within the firm. This is shown in our partnership with the Summit High School. Since 2009, Lewis Johs has participated in The Summit School Work-Based Learning Program for including students with learning and emotional challenges. Each year the firm hosts 2-4 interns per year. In 2019 Lewis Johs was named Summit High School’s Work-Based Learning Program’s Employer of the Year. The firm provides practical work-based learning as a required part of their curriculum Special education students learn how to travel independently, dress appropriately for their work environment and interact with “employers” and “colleagues” while building their resumes. Several of the students have been hired for part-time clerical work following their internships.
