LITIGATION PARALEGAL

We are currently seeking a professional litigation paralegal to join our team. Our firm handles various practice areas including medical malpractice, general liability and civil litigation.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys in all aspects of the litigation process. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for the legal field.
Duties of the litigation Paralegal would include:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, from case inception to trial preparation including, but not limited to, draft pleadings, bills of particulars, responses to discovery demands and court orders, retain experts for review files, preparation of pertinent materials and 3101(d) disclosures, assist in preparation of summary judgment motions, discovery demands/responses and motions
- File review and document inventory
- Medical record review and summarization
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel
- Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
- Utilize document management systems to organize and store case files
- E-filing
- Deposition digesting
- Assist with Trial preparation
Requirements of ideal litigation Paralegal candidate:
- Paralegal Certificate is preferred
- Proven experience working as a Paralegal in a litigation setting, strong familiarity with litigation experience
- Familiarity with medical malpractice and/or personal injury
- Proficient in using document management systems and legal software with knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent proofreading and editing abilities
- Familiarity with legal terminology and court procedures
- Excellent typing skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Ability to conduct independent investigation and problem solve
- Friendly and outgoing
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn new tasks
Note: A paralegal certificate or degree and experience with general liability and medical malpractice is preferred but not required. Relevant work experience will also be considered.
